Ranging between 5,500 and 6,200 feet above sea level, close to 3,000 Rungeto farms contributed to this micro-lot. The cherries are selected, hand-picked, and delivered the same day to the wet mill. After sorting, the cherries are milled in clean Nyamindi River water and sun-dried on raised tables before delivery to a dry mill for secondary processing.
Coffee on the Thaitu estate is carefully handpicked and delivered to the wet mill the same day. Prior to de-pulping, cherry is sorted to separate ripe fruit from under-ripes, over-ripes and twigs or debris. As is common in the area, clean river water is used for processing and is later recirculated before it’s disposed of in seepage pits. After it's washed, the coffee is dried on raised tables in the sun and then delivered to the dry mill for secondary processing.
The KingCup is the common name for a species of hedgehog cactus native to the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. A mounding cactus with stems, it prefers life in the shade of low deserts, rocky slopes, and mountain woodlands. Standing out above its dense spines, the KingCup shows off its funnel shaped, bright scarlet to orange-red flower.

Surrounded by the Opalaca and Volcan Pacavita reserves at just under a mile high elevation in western Honduras, the certified organic farms of Silvestre Vasquez and Joel Lopez contributed to this fantastic micro-lot. The coffee plants thrive in rich, clay soil and grow in the shade of Inga trees. These family farmers wet mill the coffee cherries and dry them on patios in perfect climatic conditions.
Native to the Sonoran and Chihuahuan deserts, The Night Blooming Cereus is rarely noticed due to its twiggy stems and dead, bush-like appearance. However, on a midsummers night each year it's aromatic, trumpet-shaped flowers take bloom and remain just until dawn.
